PJSC Lukoil Oil Company,is a Russian multinational energy company, headquartered in Moscow, specializing in the extraction, production, transportation and marketing of oil, gas and petroleum products.It was founded in 1991 when three state-run Western Siberian companies were named after the town of Okrug in the Khanty-Mansi autonomous region,
The headquarters of the companies are located in Langepasneftegaz, Urayneftegaz and Kogalymneftegaz.
Its name is a combination of the initials LUK (for the oil-producing cities of Langpas, Uri and Kogalim) and the English word "oil"
Lukoil is Russia's second largest company, second only to gazprom, in terms of income is one of the country's largest non-state enterprises (₽ 4.744 billion).
